Evidently, there was something in our .htaccess file that was making every page on this site operate in molasses and I'm not really sure what it exactly was, so I took about everything out and pages seem to load OK enough now. As part of the investigation that happened, we ended up doing a few things.

• Updated the Javascript library that makes a lot of the web magic happen
• Updated the user interface library that goes along with the above so that each theme has an accompanying look and feel to it (along with some other stuff)
• Modified the display of the hall of fame a little bit
• Modified the display of a lot of the "submit" buttons (click the Reply option to see an example on Post/Preview)
• Drank some beer

Went through a few other places (Help, User CP, other random areas) to include more UI elements. Updated the Mac-style menu on the Contests tab to add a little bit of extra magic (fades in, has an inactivity factor, expands equally above and below its position, drinks beer on demand).

Seems that I misread the functionality of the new button things I've been implementing all over the place. I thought I could apply a simple CSS class to stuff and have it magically transform. Turns out it could only be applied to buttons and href tags (for IE anyway). So any of you who may have visited the site using IE over the past couple of weeks, I'm sorry. I'll be going through all of the files to address this.

Over the past couple of days, I've been doing some innocuous changes here and there. Mostly around SEO (search engine optimization). Adding meta descriptions is evidently a good thing or something. I focused the work for SEO around the Contests area as that's the most important area of this site.

Anyone who was using the move tag, it was using a deprecated tag, so I changed it to be a flashing thing instead.

Pretty Gallery has been slightly altered, too.

I didn't blow up or lose any digits this weekend as a result, but I sure saw a lot of fireworks.

Great Job Mash, I'm Guessing it took quite a few beers to accomplish all that work.
My yard has some good sized craters in it from the heavy duty fireworks I was using.
And I still have all 12 of my fingers.

Yeah, I think this thing was meant for same-sized images. So instead, I've enlarged the viewing area which may lead to displays where the image is smaller than the viewing area and the image will begin to repeat or for when images are larger than the viewing area, they'll get cut off. The focus of this thing is about the transitions. It's not the ideal solution for an image gallery like on this site where the image sizes will vary.

Yet Another Gallery...this one is called "Exposure". Paginates by 5 when there are more than 5 in the gallery. Seems to generate page errors in IE, all other browsers are OK.

Got bored again today. If you look at any image and hover over the Directions? link thing, I've updated the tooltip to something a little cooler. I hope to add that same functionality to the add image area too (I bet I'll have it done shortly).

Dear Chrome Users,
Mundo notified me today of some issues when using Chrome (and very likely Safari as well). When adding an image to a contest, the upload file area wasn't displaying like IE/Firefox does. So, found a solution that should fix it for all browsers. You should now see this image which opens up a dialog to your computer's files.

After choosing your file, the little field to the left of the image populates with the file name.
